This painting started out as a totally transparent watercolor painting. I was intrigued and entertained with the lighting of this subject who was having lunch with her sister in Nashville and seemed to be totally "engaged" with her cell phone.  In order to make a better painting I decided to add gouache with stencils. The addition and integration of the  opaque paint made the subject "oblivious" to her surroundings.
