This is my third painting of Dennis.  He is an intriguing subject in which I learn more about each time I paint him.  "Every man is a volume if you know how to read him."  I'll just let his painting tell you a story about the subject.  As I listened to him talk about the loss of a close friend,  no doubt memories of others he had lost weighed heavily on his heart.  Why does he work so hard? Just as every wrinkle tells a story so does every scar.  I like to think this painting is a metaphor for the past, present and future.  Sometimes we just have to 'move on' with our lives.
